Natasha “Yoshi” Fletcher, also known as Yoshi the Dragon, is a fierce and electrifying Spoken Word Artist from Birmingham, Alabama. Born in Daleville and shaped by the fire of her Taurus spirit, Yoshi has been commanding stages since 2022, quickly rising as a force in the poetry world. At 33, she has already left her mark, winning slam competitions and captivating audiences with her intricate storytelling and emotionally charged performances. Her poetry isn't just spoken—it’s felt, crafted through powerful schemes that paint vivid imagery and pull listeners into a whirlwind of emotion.
Yoshi has performed at numerous events, including The HoneyDripper Poetry Collective Presents: Dripfest at The Linda Performing Arts Center in Albany, NY back in 2023, where her stage presence was nothing short of mesmerizing. Even her birthday became a poetic spectacle, celebrated with a dragon-themed event that embodied her fiery artistry. She is a frequent performer on Black on Black Rhyme stages, where her dynamic delivery and intricate wordplay have made her a standout. She has also been featured at Bards & Brews, Birmingham’s celebrated poetry and spoken word series. Her talent has opened doors to significant moments, including opening for a local edition of For Colored Girls, a performance that showcased her ability to blend poetry with raw emotion and empowerment.
Beyond the stage, Yoshi’s words have reached audiences online, with performances on YouTube platforms like Papi’s Poetry Corner and Louisiana Lyricists Lounge, as well as Mike Guinn's Verbz & Vibez, on Clubhouse. Whether in person or through the screen, her poetry commands attention, taking listeners on a ride through identity, resilience, and transformation.
Her journey of self-discovery and empowerment culminated in the release of her debut book, Unleashed: Becoming the Dragon, on March 1, 2024. A testament to her growth and resilience, the book solidifies her place as not only a performer but also a storyteller who leaves a lasting impact and a woman embracing her fire.
